The short version
We don't sell your data
Your information is never shared with advertisers.
Minimal collection
We collect only what's needed to run the site.
Limited retention
Data is kept only as long as it's useful.
You're in control
Request, correct, or delete your data anytime.
1. Information we collect
We collect information in three ways:
- Information you give us. When you contact us, submit a correction, or subscribe to updates, we receive your name, email address, and the content of your message.
- Information we collect automatically. Like most websites, we log basic technical data — IP address, browser type, device, pages visited, and time spent — to understand how the site is used and keep it secure.
- Information from cookies. Small text files placed on your device help us remember preferences and measure traffic. See section 3 for details.
2. How we use information
We use the information we collect to:
- Respond to your messages, questions, and correction reports
- Operate, maintain, and improve the site
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security issues
- Understand which articles and tools are most useful
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not use your information for automated decision-making, profiling, or targeted advertising.
5. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete information
- Request deletion of your information
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Request a portable copy of your data
- Withdraw consent at any time
To exercise any of these rights, email us at privacy@everydayinfo.com. We respond to all requests within 30 days.
6. Data security
We use industry-standard safeguards — encryption in transit (HTTPS), access controls, and regular security reviews — to protect your information. No system is 100% secure, but we take our responsibility seriously and act quickly on any incident.
7. Children's privacy
EverydayInfo is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with data, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or the law. When we do, we'll update the "Effective" date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we'll notify you by email or with a prominent notice on the site.
